Team Omanyd
Omanyd Excellence began after Coach Maureen and Coach Mike closed their sport club of 25 years and moved from San Francisco to Montreal, Canada...for the 2nd time.
With new adventures, come new opportunities and both Coach Maureen and Coach Mike felt that working with coaches, athletes and clubs to help them be better at what they do was what they were interested in pursuing. Coach Mike took 1 year and completed his Advanced Coaching Degree through the Coaching Association of Canada and Coach Maureen began to work with the Canadian Fencing Federation as a staff member. During this time, Omanyd Excellence was created and we started to define our mission, values and philosophy.

Brilliant at bringing people and ideas together combined with a strong ethos of finishing the drill, Maureen drives processes and pays attention to details. Add in her expertise in fencing, coaching and finance and Maureen is an incredible asset to athletes, coaches, clubs and organizations looking to reinvent themselves. She brings clarity and purpose to every Omanyd project and has a deep background in coaching at the national and international level.
Mike Pederson
Chief Brainstormer
A fan of big white boards, multiple iterations, and collaboration, Mike brings creativity and a fresh
perspective to doing better.
Combined with coaching at 2 Olympics and multiple world championships, this allows Mike a unique perspective on what it takes to succeed and lets him see you whether an athlete or coach or organization through a lens that will help you find the best solution to be better every day.
Sina and Piper
The Doggos..
Every coach or athlete needs to take breaks at some point. For us, it's either throwing frisbees so that Sina (top photo) can catch them over and over and over and over again...or going on leisurely walks with Piper our chill older dog (turning 14 soon).
Coach Mike also loves to cook and do home renovations and Coach Maureen loves exploring the Montreal coffee roasting scene and doing deep dives into her families genealogy.
But mostly, we love working with athletes, coaches and clubs.
